
Pie Crust Recipes
I love pies and will bake and eat them all through the year. I have been known to whip up a pumpkin pie in July! Sometimes, one simply can not wait until November to enjoy such goodness.Below are two super easy vintage pie crust recipes. These two recipes have been passed down to me from my Grandmother. Vintage recipes are typically made with fewer and more basic ingredients. Nothing beats a homemade pie crust. Pre-made crusts will work in a pinch, but it only takes a few minutes to whip up a delicious homemade crust.I prefer a rustic looking pie crust. I leave my edges longer in some places and embrace the lumps! If you prefer a more uniform look, you can trim off the excess dough and press the edges with a fork.

Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil Pie Crust Recipe
- Makes 1 crust
- 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. unsifted flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup oil any vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp water
Pie crust 2
- Butter Pie Crust Recipe
- Makes 1 crust
- 1 stick margarine or butter salted, cut into pieces
- 1 cup flour
- 4 to 6 Tbsp cold water
- pinch of salt*
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Form into a ball.
- Roll out between 2 pieces of wax paper.

Notes
If you prefer a sweeter crust, add 1/2 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the dough prior to rolling.
If your pie crust seems crumbly, add a touch of liquid.
